Headfort Arms Ireland's best Three Star Hotel


The Headfort Arms in Kells was named Ireland's best Three Star Hotel at the 2017 Gold Medal Awards, in association with Hotel & Catering Review magazine, earlier this week.
The Kells hotel beat off competition from 5 hotels from around Ireland, including the Conyngham Arms in Slane, to take the gold medal.
The winners were announced at a black-tie awards ceremony in the luxurious Lyrath Estate Hotel in Kilkenny which was hosted by TV3's Martin King.
The Headfort Arms was also nominated in the Menu Provenance category, and the Vanilla Pod Restaurant within the Headfort Arms was a finalist for the best Casual Dining Experience. 
Boyne Hill House Estate in Navan was nominated for the Best Hotel Website while Copper & Spices, also in Navan, was a finalist in the Event Caterer category.
The awards recognise the best hotel and caterers around the country, and raises the profiles of winners and finalists as they are considered to be the best in their sector.
Over 450 professionals from the hospitality industry attended the awards, which are in their 29th year. Hundreds of hotels, restaurants, guesthouses, spas and catering businesses entered into 33 diferent categories.
Kelly’s Resort Hotel in Co. Wexford was named the Gold Medal Supreme Winner, the highest accolade of the Awards, while Ashford Castle took home the prestigious awards for Ireland’s Five Star Hotel and Ireland’s Guest Experience.
