St Stephens NS choir to perform on Late Late Toy Show

Sixty pupils from St Stephen's NS, Johnstown, Navan, will get an opportunity most children can only dream of when they perform on the Late Late Toy Show on 27th November.
There was great excitement among the entire school community as news came through that the school choir had been chosen to perform on the show.

Before the mid-term break, the choir, which includes children from first class right up to sixth class travelled to Athlone after being selected to perform at the Leinster auditions. School principal Jenny McHugh said even getting to audition had caused huge excitement among the pupils.

They travelled by bus and were thrilled when Ryan Tubridy and the cameras came on the bus to film. “We thought at least that meant we might make a clip on the show,” recalled Ms McHugh and said then last Friday the call came that they had been chosen to perform live.
“The whole place went bananas. The whole school community is very excited. It has always been our ambition to sing on the Toy Show and every year we sent in something,” sais Ms McHugh.
The choir sang 'The Circle of Life’ from the film 'The Lion King’ for the audition and the school will soon find out what song they will be performing on the night of the toy show.

The Late Late Toy Show airs on RTE 1 on Friday, 27th November at 9.35pm.
