500 turn up to view navan showhouses

Estate agents Raymond Potterton and Company has expressed surprise at the sheer numbers of people who attended last weekend's opening of the Cois Glaisin development showhouses in Johnstown, Navan, and said they buoyed both by the sales achieved and the number of people who are within months of having their 10% and 20% saved so that they can purchase.

Some 500 viewers passed through last weekend.

Stephen Barry of the agents stated that demand came in equal measure from first time buyers and people looking to trade down (empty nesters). The range of house types in Cois Glaisin are absolutely perfect for these markets.

People are very much focused on getting comfortable energy efficient homes, he added. They are purely focussed on the cost savings involved.

People who are currently renting are extremely anxious to buy as the mortgage repayment on their own home will be in some cases substantially less than the money they are wasting on rent and owning a property gives them the stability that a rental property never could.

Last weekend’s launch boads well for the future of housing in Navan, Mr Barry said.

Energy efficiency and affordability are just two of the attractions of Cois Glaisin, on top of the fact that the homes are very tastefully designed, and built to a high specification.
The development by Maynooth-based Bridgedale Homes is one of the very few new housing projects to be launched in the county since the economic downturn hit, and Cois Glaisin was one of those which got caught in the collapse of the economy, as the original developer had to leave it unfinished. However, the lands have since changed hands, and the new builders are launching the next phase of the development with two, three, and four bedroom homes on the outskirts of old Johnstown village.
There are a number of different heating systems, including an air to water pump system, and energy efficiency is paramount with BER Certification consistently A or B standard.
Homes in Cois Glaisin are a modern design and constructed to the highest standard of craftsmanship by Bridgedale Homes. Each home will benefit from a host of modern and
exclusive features including a unique architectural design; attractive brick façade; cobblelock paving to driveways; boundary, block walls/panel fencing; side entrance to all homes; maintenance free PVC windows and external rear door; impressive landscaping; pvc facia, gutters and downpipes; hardwood/solid front doors as standard; and they covered by the Homebond guarantee.
Internally, the house is painted throughout, high quality kitchens and wardrobes, elegant fireplaces, extensive tiling, timber flooring to living areas, carpets to stairs, landing and all bedrooms, white bathroom suites with chrome fittings, and some imaginative use of mirrors.
These homes not only provide all the necessary modern features for family living, there are also constructed to the highest standards with exceptional specifications. They are located between old Johnstown village, close to tree-line Kilcarn, and the newer Johnstown area with its shopping centre and school facilities.
Prices for the two-beds start at €159,000, with the four-beds starting at €240,000, and mortgage repayments can work out cheaper than current rents, with a difference of €160 in rent over repayments calculated for one particular house type.

Stephen Barry at Raymond Potterton is handling the sale of Cois Glaisin, on (046) 902 7666, and the show homes are open again this weekend, from 2pm-4pm on Saturday and Sunday.
