Identities of disappeared remains confirmed

Two bodies found at Coghalstown, Wilkinstown, in June have been confirmed as Seamus Wright and Kevin McKee, two of ‘The Disappeared’ who were abducted and murdered by the IRA in 1970s.
DNA testing was carried out on the bodies to formally identify them and the Independent Commission for the Location of Victims Remains has confirmed that the remains found were those of Seamus Wright (25) and Kevin McKee (17), who went missing from Belfast in October 1972.
Their remains are expected to be released to their families in the coming days and funeral arrangements are now being made for the two men.
A third body, that of Joe Lynskey is also believed to be buried at Coghalstown. The commission has been engaged in the search for Mr Lynskey when Mr Wright and Mr McKee’s remains were discovered.
The remains of Brendan Megraw, also one of The Disappeared, were recovered in nearby Oristown bog last October.
