Carney strikes again as Hoops roll on

They just keep rolling along. With with the help of a hat-trick from Colm Carney Trim Celtic powered their way to a 4-1 victory over Kilnamanagh AFC in the Leinster Junior  Cup at the MDL today.

The talented Trim Celtic striker teased and tormented the Kilnamanagh  defence all afternoon netting the opener early on when he stooped low to glance a Mark Leavy cross to the net.

Last week in the NEFL Challenge Cup final Carney hit two goals from the penalty spot to give his team a 2-0 win over Kentstown Rovers.

The Dublin side conjured up an equaliser to make it 1-1 at the interval but assisted by a strong breeze in the second-half Alan Murphy's men piled on the pressure.

Jack O'Keeffe fired home at the far post after another excellent Leavy cross and Carney then showed his skill and guile in the box to score two first-rate goals and ensure his team progress to the fifth round.

This was an excellent team display from the Hoops with Brian Faulkner going very close to adding a fifth late on.
