Ben Curtis was in action today for the Republic of Ireland u-15s in Cyprus.

Curtis and Ferguson feature in Cyprus

Ben Curtis and Evan Ferguson both featured for the Republic of Ireland u-15s today as the team continued its fine form in 2019 with a 1-1 draw away to Cyprus in the Sotira Municipal Stadium.

Curtis (Navan)and Ferguson (Bettystown) both play for Bohemians/St Kevin's Boys

Last January Curtis captained the Republic of Ireland u-15s against hosts Spain in the opening match of an International tournament and the duo also featured in further games against Netherlands and Hungary in that tournament

Today the Irish boys conceded an early goal inside the first 15 minutes when Andreas Savva's shot beat Aaron Maguire,
but on the half-hour mark Ben Quinn scored a well-deserved equaliser.

Speaking after the game, Head Coach Jason Donohue revealed that he was happy with how the side coped in the Cypriot
heat.

"The lads have never played in those temperatures before. Going in at 1-1 at the break, we were happy with. We had all the chances in the second-half and were unlucky not to win," he said.

The teams will meet again on Thursday afternoon. Kick-off is at 3pm (1pm Irish time).
