Clancy gearing up for second season with Drogheda Utd

Trim man Tim Clancy is continuing preparations for his second season at the helm with Drogheda Utd.

Clancy took Drogheda to the play-offs last season where they were edged out by Finn Harps.

The Donegal men went on to clinch promotion when they defeated Limerick in the Premier play-off.

Clancy will be looking to build on a solid first season at United Park where one of the best results was a win against Shamrock Rovers in the FAI Cup.

Last week Clancy added Adam Wixted to the panel. Under-age international Wixted has re-joined the club from Sligo Rovers for his third spell at United Park.

Wixted left Derby County to join Drogheda in July 2014 and made a handful of appearances for Damien Richardson's side before moving onto Bohemians.

Short spells at Bohs and Bray Wanderers followed before Wixted signed for Pete Mahon's Drogheda in 2016 where he made a vital contribution to the club's promotion, scoring three goals in 21 appearances.

Last season he helped Sligo to a seventh place finish in the Premier Division.

Drogheda will kick-off the season with a home game against Cobh Ramblers on Friday 22nd February.

FRIDAY 22nd FEBRUARY
