Challenge Cup final date confirmed

The NEFL Challenge Cup final between Trim Celtic and Muirhevnamor will take place on Sunday 16th December at 12pm it was confirmed.

There was a queston mark whether the final would be put back to perhaps early in the new year but the decision has been taken to go ahead with it tomorrow week.

The most likely venue is United Park, Drogheda but that has to be confirmed yet.

Trim Celtic earned their place in the final last week when they defeated Newfoundwell 3-0 in the last four.

This coming Wednesday Trim Celtic and Muirhevnamor meet in an NEFL Premier clash with the Louth side looking to secure a victory to ensure they win the league title.

Trim Celtic don't have anything to play for except pride but their manager Alan Murphy insists they will be looking to finish off their campaign on a winning note - and give themselves a boost ahead of the cup final a few days later.

Trim Celtic last won the Challenge Cup in 2016 when Paddy O'Reilly was manager.
