Lenihan in 'provisional' squad for Northern Ireland and Denmark games

The chance to gain further experience on the international stage presents itself for Dunboyne's Darragh Lenihan as he has been included in the Republic of Ireland "provisional squad" for the clash with Northern Ireland at the Aviva Stadium on Thursday, 15th November and Denmark in Aarhus on Monday 19th November.  The squad was announced today by manager Martin O'Neill. 

Lenihan will be looking to win his second senior cap for the Republic of Ireland after he made his debut against the USA in June, replacing John O'Shea in the first-half. 

The Dunboyne man did well against the US and almost scored a goal with his goal-bound effort turned in by Graham Burke almost on the goal-line. 

Lenihan has established himself as a first-choice on the Blackburn Rovers team which is managed by Tony Mowbray and in the hunt for promotion. 

The Meath player made his debut for Rovers in April 2015 when he cam on as a subtitute against Millwall and was a started next time out against Huddersfield Town. He has earned caps at u-17, u-19 and u-21 levels for the Republic and will be looking to add to that against Michael O'Neill's Northern Ireland side.
