Trim Celtic will be looking to make an impact in the FAI Junior Cup.

Meath teams go in search of FAI Junior Cup glory

Four teams from Meath will be looking to make an impact in the FAI Junior Cup in the second round of a competition once regarded as one of the largest competitions in European football.

Ashbourne Utd, Ratoath Harps, Parkvilla and Trim Celtic will all be looking to advance in a section that includes teams from the Athletic Union League (AUL), the Leinster Senior League (LSL)  and the North East Football League (NEFL).

Ashbourne Utd take on Kilmore Celtic on their own patch, Ratoath Harps will face up to NEFL side Muirhevnamor away, Parkvilla will welcome Newlands-Castle Park to Claremont Stadium while Trim Celtic tackle Corduff FC away.

Two seasons ago Navan Cosmos had a protracted run in the competition with Derek Coogan in charge while Mervyn Ennis assisted. They are now at the helm at Parkvilla. One of the driving forces on that Cosmos side was Alan Murphy who is now manager of Trim Celtic and he too will be looking to progress.

Both Parkvilla and Trim Celtic also take on each other in the NEFL Challenge Cup this Friday night at Claremont Stadium, 8pm in what is sure to be an intriguing contest.
