OMP Utd manager David Doyle

OMP Utd off to a winning start

The opening action of the new North East Football League season took place last night and OMP Utd manager David Doyle saw his team win away to Athboy as predicted by the Meath Chronicle.

However, not all our forecasts were correct.

It didn't start well for OMP last night either but after falling behind the Navan side produced a comeback to claim three points.

OMP had couple of chances to take the lead before the opening goal but their goals didn’t come until midway through second half when substitute and new signing Richie Massey lobbed the keeper from a superb pass.

Massey then produced a sublime finish soon after to secure the win.

Jack Walsh, Shaun Doyle, Donal Callan, Josh Gaffney were the pick of a superb team display whilst Richie Massey turned in a man of the match display.

OMP Utd - Jack Walsh; Joe Garvey, Shaun Doyle, Craig Dempsey, Josh Gaffney, Craig Dixon, Steve Casey, Donal Callan, Wayne Cahill, Rob Coombes, Peter Cahill. Subs - Richie Massey for W Cahill, Paul Cunningham for P Cahill,
Jap Connors for Casey, Adam Lavelle for Callan.
