Action from last weekend's Ballivor Grand Prix

Crilly prominent at Ballivor Grand Prix

Slane cyclist Fergus Crilly put in a tremendous effort to take the A3 category at the Navan Road Club-promoted Ballivor Grand Prix last weekend.

Fergus also finished in seventh place overall and continues to make great progress in the top cycling events over the past couple of months.

The race covered three laps of a local circuit which is 50km in total, ending in a bunch sprint with Mark McGirr (Lakelands CC) first home just ahead of Mark Heather (Orwell) while Paul Norton (Strata 3 Velo) was third.

Stamullen cyclist Craig Sweetman was in fourth place with David Casserly (Longford) in fifth and Javan Nulty sixth.

At the presentation of prizes after the race in Mc Laughlins, Gerry Harte son of the late Ciaran Harte presented the memorial cup to the winner.

The club thank the main sponsors Mc Keown Bros and Mc Laughlins Lounge and all who supported this popular event.
