Navan v Galwegians

Navan chalk up another win

The visitors from the west called at Balreask Old today but they set out on the journey home empty-handed after Navan chalked up a 28-7 win over Galwegians in the AIL Div 2A today.

This was a another bonus point win for Ray Moloney's side and keeps them nicely involved in the race for the title.

The home side couldn't have asked for a better start as they raced into a14-0 lead after just 14 minutes with Harry Hester scoring a try converted by Brian Haugh.

James McInerney broke through for another touchdown with again Haugh adding the extras and it looked like it was going to be easy for Navan.

It didn't work out like that as struggling Galwegians exerted considerable pressure and they got a try of their own when Rory Gaffney went over. The try was converted to leave it 14-7 at the break.

In the second-half Navan exerted huge pressure in the scrums and they were awarded a penalty try.

Again Galwegians exerted plenty of pressure in the second-half without managing to add to their account.

In injury time Navan scored a fourth try when they broke from their defensive positions and Conor Hand went over. Haugh converted to seal another great win for Moloney's men.
