Balreask Old

This Saturday Balreak Old will host of festival of rugby football when the Beachy Cup blitz competition takes place at the home of Navan RFC.

This popular tournament, for senior men's teams, is generally regarded among the rugby fraternity in the north east as the start of the new rugby season. The blitz gets underway at 1pm.

The following clubs will be taking part: Ardee, Ashbourne, Athboy, Balbriggan, Boyne, Dundalk, Ratoath, Navan, North Meath, Skerries and Swords. This is a record turnout for this event.

"This is a full 15-a-side competition. Seeing the list, there will be plenty of exciting rugby for the afternoon," added Navan RFC's Gerry Williamson.

The Beachy Cup includes first, second and third teams depending on their status in Leinster League or AIL rugby."
