Kells handballers head for USA

Kells handballers Troy Flanagan, Dylan Sheridan, Jack Rennicks, Daniel Farrelly, Michael Sheridan and Robert Fox will be in action at the World Handball Championships in the USA from Sunday next until Monday 20th August.

The Kells contingent will be part of some 700 players who will make the trip from Ireland and will be in action against opposition from the USA, Canada, Australia, Mexico, England, Spain and Belgium.

The Kells group depart for Minnesota this week in preparation for the championships and the the players have put in a huge amount of training especially in the last six months.

“Hopes are high that a number of medals will be coming home to the famous Meath club,” commented club official Tom Sheridan.

“A number of supporters and family members will also make the trip bringing the total amount travelling to 14.

“The organising committee would like to recognise the generosity of the people of Kells for all the help they received in their fundraising events,” he added.
