Murphy best in Oldcastle 5k

Drumree man Barry Murphy, running for Celbridge AC, was the first home in the St Brigid's AC-promoted Oldcastle 5k last night. 

Murphy completed in a time of 16:05,81 with Paul Fleming (Rathfarmham WSAF AC) taking second in 16:43,67 and Niall Smith (Shercock) in third.

Fr Mrphy's Richard Bell was fourth across the line with local man Ben Brunton (St Brigid's) in fifth.

Crusaders athlete Ilona McElroy was the first lady home in 19:06,25 ahead of Meath duo Ciara Rooney (Navan AC) and Dunboyne's Claire Ni Fharrcheallaigh who crossed the line together in second place.

Dunshaughlin;s Shauna Moran was fourth in19:51,34 with Na Fianna's s Mary Hanley in fifth (20:15,88).
