Bellewstown Day One - Colin Keane moves on to 48 winners

Colin Keane registered one winner at the opening night of the four-day Bellewstown Festival to take his tally for the season to 48 at the top of the table.

Keane partnered the Ado McGuinness-trained Highly Approved to victory for north Meath owner Dermot Forde from 
Oldcastle.

The Trim jockey got the better of a Meath-trained horse,Takeachancejimmy, for Nigel Slevin andjockey Robbie Colgan.

 There was a real local success in the penultimate race on the card when John McConnell, who is almost walking distance from the track, sent many of the punters home happy when Blankiedoodie made it three in-a-row.

 Blankiedoodie won at Gowran in May, Listowel in JUne and now Bellewstwon in July with a target now for anoother win in August, possibly at Galway.

Blankiedoodie is owned by Derek Kierans who has come home this week from the USA for the Bellewstown July Festival

The €25,000 Drogheda Traders Plate (QR) Handicap was won by the Willie Mullins-trained Diamond Hill ridden by  Patrick Mullins. A great win after the horse was 214 days off the track!
