Dundalk races rescheduled to next Wednesday

The Dundalk races that were abandoned last night due to a medical emergency at the track have been rescheduled for next Wednesday.

Horse Racing Ireland (HRI) has extended sincere condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of the IHRB Security Officer, Mr Willie Buckley, who sadly passed away after taking ill while on duty at Dundalk last night.

The remaining six races, which were cancelled last night, are now rescheduled for Wednesday 6th March 6 (evening meeting). 

The original entries for these races stand and fresh declarations must be made by 10am on Tuesday March 5.

In addition, Horse Racing Ireland has transferred The LinenCare Apprentice Handicap (Race 43F, a 45-65 handicap for 4 yrs old and upwards over one mile), due to be held at Dundalk next Friday 8th March, to Wednesday’s programme as an additional race to form a seven-race card. 

The entries for this race will now close by 12 noon on Monday 4th March.
 
The time of the first race at Wednesday’s meeting will be 5.10pm.
