Racing abandoned at Dundalk

Racing at Dundalk tonight was abandoned after the second race.

A member of the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board security team was reported to have collapsed in the winners enclosure after the second race.

The medical people at the track were quickly on the scene and the individual was taken to hospital.

The decision was subsequently taken to call off the remaining six contests, with the official IHRB report stating: “Due to a serious medical incident, the Stewards abandoned racing after Race 2.”
