Cromwell's Cork double
These are busy times for trainer Gavin Cromwell who just got back on Sunday evening from a successful weekend raid at Longchamp and followed up with a Cork double today.
Apart from the trip to Cork, there was Galway yesterday and there was also the small matter of two runners at Ludlow today - didn't make the frame.
However, at Cork there was an impressive showing from Innamorare which edged the verdict in the €30,000 fillies handicap with Chris Hayes on board.
The Cromwell runner got the better of neighbouring trainer (Ratoath) Dermot McLoughlin's Waitaki by a neck in a tight finish.
Innamorare was claimed for €17,000 at Gowran last month from Bangor (Down) trainer Claire Louise Cannon.
"It panned out grand and it is great to win a pot like that with her as she won what she cost back today,” said Cromwell who doubled up when Fuwairt arrived late for Kevin Manning to win the concluding seven-furlong handicap and again beating a Meath runner, the Sheila Lavery-trained Mr Ormsby.
