Don't miss Bellewstown races this week

Local horseracing enthusiasts have two more days of top quality action on the Hill of Crockafatha to enjoy this year when Bellewstown host racing this Wednesday (29th) and Thursday (30th).

This year patrons can avail of the popular Bellewstown Belter which includes admission, free pint, a €5 ‘matched’ bet and a racecard for €20.

The other option is the hospitality offering for €50 in the comfort of the marquee, a three-course barbecue meal, tipster, racecard and post-race music.

There will be top quality racing on both evenings with the focus on Wednesday 29th August on flat racing and on Thursday 30th August the focus will switch to national hunt with the feature race that evening The Mullacurry Cup’ sponsored by Bar One Racing.

First run in the 1860s on a track located between Dunleer and Ardee, the Mullacurry Cup found its new home in Bellewstown in 2005 after the cup was won by Pat Markey in 1938 with a horse called Clarristown and was donated to the Bellewstown track by his sons.

The Top Flight Travel best dressed competition on Thursday has a prizefund of over €3,000.
