David Gough to take charge of All Ireland SFC final

Slane referee David Gough will take charge of his first All Ireland Senior Football Final when Dublin meet Kerry next month.

The GAA has confirmed the referees and match officials for the 2019 GAA Football All-Ireland Senior and Electric Ireland Minor Championship finals on 1st September with Gough confirmed as the referee for the senior final.

David Gough, who is a member of the Slane club, was the man-in-the middle for the 2015 minor final between Kerry and Tipperary, and he has also refereed the All-Ireland Under 21 final in 2013 between Cork and Galway, Connacht final in 2017, Ulster Final 2018, and the AIB Senior Club final in 2018. 

In this year’s football championship, he has refereed the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship Quarter-Finals between Mayo v Donegal and Dublin and Cork, Ulster Semi Final Donegal v Tyrone and Mayo v Roscommon in Connacht Championship. In the Allianz League, David has refereed the Kerry v Tyrone, Down v Westmeath, Cavan v Roscommon and Cork v Donegal. 

His umpires on the day will be Dean Gough, Eugene Gough, Stephen Gough and Terry Gough, all members of the Slane club. 

Cork’s Conor Lane will be the standby referee. The other linesman is Barry Cassidy (Derry) and the Sideline official will be Sean Hurson (Tyrone).

Noel Mooney, who will be officiating the minor final, is a member of the Cavan Gaels club. 

In this year’s football championship, Noel has refereed the All Ireland Quarter Final Phase 3 clash of Cork and Roscommon, as well as the Ulster Club final, Scotstown v Gweedore Leinster Championship, Wicklow v Kildare and Qualifier Game between Antrim v Kildare. In the Allianz League, Noel has refereed Louth v Longford, Roscommon v Tyrone and Kildare v Tipperary. 

His umpires on the day will be Michael Mooney, Michael Graham, Berney Quinn and Martin Sheridan, all members of Cavan Gaels Club 
 
Roscommon’s Paddy Neilan will be the standby referee, the other linesman is Brendan Cawley (Kildare) and the Sideline Official will be Jerome Henry (Mayo).
