Marcus Brennan set for Meath championship debut

Marcus Brennan comes into the Meath team today for his championship debut against Kerry after making a brief appearance against Mayo in the Super 8s at Croke Park two weeks ago.

Brennan replaced back-carded Andrew Colgan for the penalty incident against Mayo.

Shane Walsh, Thomas O'Reilly and Darragh Campion are named in the attack with Walsh taking over the full-forward berth from Mickey Newman (injured).

Information prised from the Meath camp earlier this week suggested that Newman was making good progress and could be fit enough for selection, but that appears to have been an optimistic forecast from those in the know.

James Conlon and James mcEntee are also omitted from the starting 15

The Meath team is: Marcus Brennan; Seamus Lavin, Conor McGill, Shane Gallagher; Donal Keogan, Padraic Harnan, Gavin McCoy; Bryan Menton, Shane McEntee; Ethan Devine, Bryan McMahon, Darragh Campion; Cillian O'Sullivan, Shane Walsh, Thomas O’Reilly.
