Meath to face Westmeath in Mullingar Kehoe Cup semi

Meath hurlers will return to action on Sunday 13th January with a semi-final outing against Westmeath in the Kehoe Cup, probably at Cusack Park, Mullingar.

Meath manager Nick Fitzgerald will be aiming to use the game as part of his preparations for the forthcoming NHL Div 2A.

Both teams recorded victories in the opening round. Goals from Robbie Greville and Aaron Kennedy were vital as Westmeath recorded a 2-22 to 1-7 success over Wicklow.

Meath edged out Kildare in a penalty shoot-out at Newbridge after the sides finished level at 1-15 apiece. The Royal County won the penalty shoot-out by 2-0 with goals from Sean Quigley and Damien Healy.

If Meath negotiate Westmeath in the semi-final they will face Antrim, Kildare or Wicklow in the final on Sunday 20th January.
