Reilly's goal crucial as Carnaross claim Tailteann Cup

There was a small measure of revenge for Carnaross at Dunganny on Friday night as they claimed the Tailteann Cup with a 1-9 to 0-9 victory over St Vincent's.
When presenting the Tailteann Cup to Carnaross captain Frank O'Reilly Co Board treasurer Jim Mullery congratulated both teams for playing the game “in the right spirit” which drew laughter from the assembled crowd (see video below).
There were a few occasions late on when the contest threatened to get out of hand, but referee Liam Reddy dismissed a player from each side with Carnaross's Thomas Nugent and St Vincent's Jack Byrne picking up last minute red cards.
Prior to the fractious closing stages the game was a hugely entertaining spectacle with Carnaross gaining revenge for losing to the Ardcath men in the JFC semi-final a couple of months ago.
The contest was close throughout with Declan Reilly's 38th minute goal proving decisive and it wasn't until captain O'Reilly and goal scorer Reilly added late points that the issue was finally put to bed.
