Ballinabrackey v Dunderry at Simonstown.

Ballinabrackey point their way to semi-final spot

It wasn't pretty but in the end Ballinabrackey did what they wanted to do and defeated Dunderry 0-7 to 0-4 in the IFC this evening to secure a place in the semi-finals where they will take on Longwood.

Both sides put a big emphasis on protecting their own goals but Ballinabrackey showed  a marginally sharper cutting edge to make it through.

They led 0-3 to 0-1 at the interval with with two points from Damien Carroll and one from Dean McNamee. In the second-half they withstood considerable pressure from Dunderry and added points from Carroll, Danny Quinn, Chris O'Connor and Stephen Donoghue to make it across the line.

Dunderry really struggled to create any openings and they also missed good scoring opportunities with two of their points scored by Stephen Coogan while Conor Dempsey and Conor Farrell also lofted over.
