Two-way traffic on all of Railway Street from next month

Upgrade works on Railway Street in Navan are scheduled to be finished next month. On completion, new traffic signal and vehicular movement alternations to the Brews Hill junction will provide motorists travelling toward Trimgate Street on Brews Hill with the option of turning right onto Railway Street, which will become ‘two-way’ for traffic.
The traffic management changes are part of planned improvements for access and egress to and from the town centre, and are also to assist with the management of traffic during the later construction phases of the Navan Town Scheme (Navan 2030).
The Brews Hill junction has been provided with new wheelchair accessible signalised pedestrian crossings and upgraded public lighting, as part of the significant public realm enhancement works recently undertaken by Meath County Council, with the support of the National Transport Authority.
The traffic management changes for the Brews Hill junction and Railway Street are scheduled to occur at 10am on Thursday, March 12th, and the changes will be advertised further in the lead up to this date on Variable Message Signs (VMS), radio and social media.
It is anticipated that the next phase of the Navan 2030 construction works will commence at the beginning of April, subject to conclusion of a tender process, and these works are to include the upgrade of Bridge Street and the signalisation of Bridge Street/ Circular Road/Academy Street junction, in addition to the upgrade of the two roundabouts located on Abbey Road.

Further information will be advertised in the coming weeks to notify the public, residents and business of the planned works, Meath County Council states.
