Death of former Meath footballer, Declan Brennan

The death has occurred of Declan Brennan, a member of the Meath team that played in the 1952 All Ireland football final against Cavan, and a former General Secretary of the Department of Education.

Mr Brennan, Hill View, Claristown, Julianstown, died peacefully at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital.

He is survived by his wife, Chrissie, family,  Olive Mary, Manus, Martina, Ronan, Cristín, Sinéad and Cianan, sons-in-law, Peter, Paul, Pete and Billy, daughters-in-law Sarah and Orlaith, grandchildren, sister-in-law, brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

He is reposing at his home from 4pm until 8pm on Friday evening. Removal on Saturday morning at 10.30am arriving to St  Mary’s Church, Julianstown for Funeral Mass at 11am. Burial afterwards in Moorechurch Cemetery. Family flowers only, donations if desired to Bone Marrow for Leukaemia Trust or Alzheimer’s Drogheda Branch.
