Navan Lotto syndicate to share some of winnings with colleagues

A group of seven lucky colleagues from Navan is celebrating collecting a cheque for over €119,000 after they won the Lotto Match 5 + Bonus prize in last Wednesday’s (7th August) draw.

The work colleagues who wish for their win to remain private have been playing Lotto together for over 11 years and they spoke of the excitement which gripped their workplace when they found out about their huge win.

The syndicate leader said: “We knew that the €9 million Lotto jackpot hadn’t been won on the Wednesday night so we didn’t put any thought into what we could have won on the ticket. We were working away the following morning when one of the guys ran in to tell us that a big prize was sold in our local shop. There was absolute pandemonium at work once we got the ticket checked. It’s a good thing that our boss is in the syndicate too, so he wasn’t overly concerned at our lack of productivity for the day,” they laughed.

The winning Quick Pick ticket worth €119,270 was sold on Friday 2nd August at the Maxol Service Station in Flowerhill, Navan.

After bagging the Lotto cheque for over €119,000, the delighted work syndicate discussed how they would spend their winnings and even revealed how they planned to share their good fortune with other colleagues who were not part of the syndicate:

“It’s over €17,000 each so it’s a lovely amount. We all have our own plans for the winnings which include things such as new cars and holidays. One of the group is getting married in the next few weeks so I’m sure that the money will go a long way towards footing the bill for their big day. There are a couple of our colleagues who aren’t in the syndicate so we’ve decided to club together to give them a small few bob each so they can enjoy the celebrations with us,” they added.
