Arrangements for the funeral of Mikey Leddy

The funeral details for Mikey Leddy have been released.

The tragic teenager died on Tuesday following a fall in the early hours of Monday morning while on holidays with his family in Puerto Del Carmen in Lanzarote.

The funeral notice reads:

Pre deceased by his grandparents Francis Kelly & Michael Leddy.Treasured son of Damien & Aisling & beloved brother of Corey, Jack & Daniel. Mikey will be very sadly missed by his heart broken parents & brothers, his grandparents Michael Kelly & Mary Leddy, his aunts, uncles, cousins, team mates & many friends.

May Mikey Rest in Peace

Reposing at his home in Beaufort Place (Eircode C15FE4A) on Sunday from 2pm to 7pm & on Monday from 2pm to 6pm.

House strictly private at all other times please.

Funeral Mass on Tuesday at 12 noon in St. Mary's Church, Navan. Burial afterwards in St. Mary's cemetery, Navan.

 

On Thursday hundreds of people attended a special gathering in the People's Park in Johnstown to commemorate the life of the talented young soccer and football player. Hundreds of red, white and blue balloons went up into the sky during the tribute.

These colours were chosen as they're the colours of Johnstown FC and Navan O'Mahonys GAA Club.

To mark Mikey's tragic passing, members of Johnstown FC also gathered last night in the People's Park to remember their clubmate.

The poignant tributes came after it emerged the Republic of Ireland football squad will honour Mikey before their upcoming Euro 2020 qualifier game against Switzerland next month with a minute's applause.
