Cannonball Supercar spectacle coming to Slane

The official route for Cannonball 2019 has been announced and County Meath will be hosting the supercar spectacle for the first time on Sunday September 8th when Lord Henry Mountcharles welcomes the supercar event to Slane. Cannonball, is the brainchild of Meath native Alan Bannon from Kiltale. Alan has often spoken of his desire to bring the marque event to his home county.

Thousands are expected to line the streets to welcome the event which gives fans the chance to get up close and personal with the world’s top mark cars such as McLaren, Lamborghini, Ferrari, Aston Martin, Porsche, Masseratti, Rolls Royce and Bentley. And if the line-up at the photo call to mark the launch was anything to go by, then car enthusiasts are in for a real treat.

On the day, Slane’s historic castle was a fitting backdrop for the stunning orange Lamborghini Aventador, blue Porsche GT3 RS and white McLaren MP4-12C on display. The concert venue, which is renowned as one of the best natural amphitheatres on the planet, came alive as just a single V12 engine roared out; just imagine how it will sound on the 8th of September when it will host a full 190-piece orchestra of exotic supercars.
