Three arrested after shop robbery in which staff were threatened with broken bottle

Gardaí have arrested three persons following a robbery at a shop in Stamullen last evening.

Shortly before 10pm, a man entered the shop and threatened staff with a broken bottle. He fled the scene in a car with a number of accomplices.

Gardaí from Laytown and Duleek who were searching the area later observed a car matching the description of the getaway car in Julianstown and forced the vehicle to stop. Three persons were arrested, a 20 year old male, a 22 year old male and a 24 year old female. They are being interviewed in relation to the robbery.

Gardaí are also examining if this incident is linked to a number of similar type robberies that occurred in the Drogheda area yesterday afternoon.
