Local characters featured in hilarious video

Roving reporter 'Malachy Murray' unleashed his inimitable charms on the people of Meath recently when he visited the county to talk to some interesting local characters captured in a hilarious video. The old school MC visited a number of towns including Navan, Nobber, Trim, Slane and Dunshaughlin to chat to the residents about what they love about the royal county.

"The people of Meath are so charming, it's a place full of ancient sites and hilarious people like Pierce Brosnan and Colm O'Rourke," comments Malachy, adding " Even though they have been in the halfpenny place when it comes to football of late, they make up for it with their charm and wit.

"When I arrived in Navan that day I was talking to some people in and around the shopping centre, they were really upbeat because they had just qualified for the first division. The floodgates opened in Pairc Tailteann and they all came out and were delighted to meet a gentleman with a cravat, brown jacket and a microphone."

Smooth talking Malachy says he learned many interesting things about Meath on his travels,

"Well I learned that Meath has a very good bus system and that you have won a lot of All Ireland's in the past. I did get slapped by one lady when I told her I was going to Nobber, I'm not sure why she took such offence to that."

Malachy Murray is the alter ego of FM104 funnyman Terry Fahy and is influenced by veteran broadcasters like Terry Wogan, Mike Murphy, Gay Byrne and Eamon Andrews.

"Malachy is an old school broadcaster gentleman type with a sting in the tail every now and again," says Terry, "he's very much modelled on a gentleman of old fashioned values.

"Malachy Murray MCs events all over the country and is available for birthdays, weddings and Bar Mitzvahs so if you are looking for some old school charm and charisma, get in touch..at your peril," concludes Terry.
