Keane to lead out Ireland XI squad for Sean Cox match

A Republic of Ireland XI squad with a total of 1,109 senior caps will take on a Liverpool Legends team on Friday 12th April in Aviva Stadium, in aid of the Sean Cox Rehabilitation Trust. Robbie Keane is to lead out the Irish team managed by Mick McCarthy.
The match will see some of the biggest names in the game go head-to-head, in a bid to raise vital money for the rehabilitation of Sean Cox from Dunboyne who was the victim of an unprovoked attack outside Anfield last year ahead of Liverpool’s UEFA Champions League tie against AS Roma and is continuing his recovery.
Ireland's all-time record goalscorer and appearance holder, Robbie Keane, will lead the team out as captain before representing Liverpool - one of his former clubs - in the second half. Other former Ireland international who wore the red jersey, Phil Babb, Jason McAteer and John Aldridge, are also expected to feature for both sides.
Led by current Ireland manager Mick McCarthy, the squad includes some of the country's greatest-ever players who graced the international stage at FIFA World Cups and UEFA European Championships - while three players have 100 or more caps each.
