Claremont Stadium announces end of receivership

Claremont Stadium is now officially out of receivership.
An agreement has been reached by the trustees with the receiver and the Deed of Discharge was lodged with the Property Registration Authority on 12th October .
Chairperson Michael Smyth says: “We are grateful for the support received from all quarters during what has been a long and difficult negotiation. In particular, we wish to thank the manager and staff of the stadium and the tenants  for their patience over the past 19 months, which for them has been a very anxious time. Their patience has been rewarded and a secure future assured.”

There were a number of organisations whose help and advice were of great assistance in reaching a successful conclusion.
"We would like to acknowledge the assistance of Community Finance Ireland, McKenna Law, T&J Gavigan, Smith Harrington, BCC Accountants, Planning Department, Meath Co. Co, Office of Minister for Tourism & Sport, Athletics Ireland, Sport Ireland, Rogers & Byron and Steen O’Reilly.

"There are a number of individuals whose professional advice was sought, and was freely offered, and for which we are extremely grateful. They know who they are!"

The club has also acknowledged local representatives and the people of Navan and the surrounding communities for sticking by their stadium and for turning out in numbers, with their children, to support the days of protest.
"Your support gave a much needed boost to us at a time when our spirits were very low. Thank you!"

Mairead Hurley, secretary, said Claremont Stadium Club is now in a strong position to consider the further development of the Stadium.
"We have in place a separate organisation, CSG Sports Club CLG, whose responsibility it is to promote and manage the day-to-day affairs of the Stadium.
"Following a recent survey of customers, we are very much aware of the shortcomings in the stadium identified by users of the facility. In particular, the condition of the hall came in for criticism, and wear and tear of the track has now become obvious. Attention to both of these essential amenities will need careful planning and serious fundraising. We hope that we can rely on the support of our community, local industry and business to bring future plans to fruition and we look forward to outlining our plans to interested parties in the coming months," she said.
