Burst water main at Duleek causing widespread disruption

A burst has occurred on a water main at Duleek School National School, which is likely to cause supply disruptions to customers in Ratoath, Fairyhouse Road, Kilbride, Curragha, Kilbrew and surrounding areas.

Irish Water and Meath County Council are working to repair the burst as soon as possible. A repair crew is on site and has isolated the burst to carry out the complex repair due to the depth and location of the water main.

The repair is estimated to be completed by 9pm tonight. Once the repair is complete it will take a number of hours for a normal water supply to be restored to any impacted customers.

Some customers may experience an interruption to their water supply or reduced pressure today and into the night as the water in the network recharges.

A traffic management system will be in place for the duration of the works.
