Connell & Co ready to 'Take It Easy' in Trim

Athboy singer Nigel Connell will, no doubt, be bumping into many familiar faces when he takes part in the sold out 'Take It to the Limit' gig at Trim Castle Hotel on Monday night next.

The gig is part of a tour Connell and other singers and musicians have embarked on in which they play many of the Eagles' best loved songs such as 'Take It Easy' and 'Hotel California.' Accompanying the popular Athboy man is Johnny Brady, Simon Casey and the Sheerin Family Band, who are particularly popular in the midlands. The Sheerins are also known widely for their rendations of American country songs.

"When we played in Tullamore it was sold out months beforehand. I wanted to play in my neck of the woods and we're absolutley delighted it's sold out in Trim, particularly a Monday night. We're really delighted with the response. The Eagles are such a great band and they created superb songs," said Connell.

Nigel is a singer and songwriter who started performing when he was 15 with the family band.  Once the drummer for Daniel O’Donnell, he played the lead role in 'Irish - the Musical', released his album 'Nothing Left to Say' and in 2016 had a big impact when he reached the final of 'The Voice of Ireland.'

Hugely versatile he can get on stage and sing classical songs with an orchestra or rock the house down with a band. He is a also a natural with country numbers. He also sings his own songs with a powerful conviction and does brilliant versions of classics such as 'In the Air Tonight' by Phil Collins which the Meathman delivered so memorably on the 'Voice of Ireland' competition.
