There was no big concert at Slane this year but that didn't stop one big name rock n' roll star taking over the Castle this summer. 
Lord Henry Mountcharles played host to Ferrari and no less than 10 of its exclusive Ferrari Portofino models - the last stop off after a European tour 

A small number of customers and fans of the Prancing Horse got to see 10 examples of the new convertible through with the splendour of Slane Castle with visitors also getting the chance to explore the new Slane Whiskey Distillery.

Ferrari unveiled its latest addition to the V8 GT set - the new Ferrari Portofino - at an exclusive event at London’s Kensington Olympia last November.  The spectacular launch brought together the best of London society with guests from the fashion, arts and creative communities, as well as those with a passion for the remarkable Italian brand. 

The Ferrari Portofino is named after the charming village on the Italian Rivera, the Portofino is both stylish and elegant, perfectly designedto be driven every day. Capable of unleashing 600 cv and sprinting from 0 to 200 km/h in just 10.8 seconds it’s the most powerful convertible to combine a retractable hard top, a roomy boot and two rear seats suitable for short trips.

And in case you're wondering, the Portofino will set you back somewhere north of £165,000 with Charles Hurst Motors in Northern Ireland being your Ferrari dealer.
