Local Company Managing National Lottery Competition

Will Meath Come Out On Top?

The National Lottery Good Causes Fund generates €620,000 per day for Good Causes across Ireland. Sports clubs, community groups, senior citizens, health and childcare organisations all benefit from these funds as well as arts, culture, heritage and Irish language groups. That’s over €5billion every year that goes to local communities across Ireland just from Irish people playing National Lottery Games.

Now the National Lottery wants to celebrate and recognise those organisations doing such amazing good work across the country. They have announced the inaugural National Lottery Good Causes Awards and are inviting clubs and community groups across the country to apply now. The competition categories are: Sports, Arts and Culture, Heritage, Youth, Health and Community.

Local company WhiteLight Consulting are managing the competition on behalf of the National Lottery. Project Manager Con O’Donoghue explains, “It’s a really exciting competition. Applying is simple. Just answer three questions and submit your entry on line or by post.”

He continues “The competition is open to any organisation or individual who received funding in 2014, 2015 or 2016 from Dept. of Transport, Tourism and Sports, Dept. of Health, Dept. of Children and Youth Affairs, HSE, Dept. of Arts Heritage and the Gaeltacht or the Dept. of Housing, Planning and Local Government.”

“The closing date for applications is 13th July, that’s just next Friday, so don’t delay, get your entry in now. It’s really quick and easy, it takes about ten minutes. Your community group, sports club or arts organisation can win valuable cash prizes but even more importantly, they could win valuable publicity at the National Awards which will be televised in November” Con concludes.

If you are an individual or member of a community project, a sports club or organization which has received National Lottery funding between the years 2014-2016, you are eligible to apply for the awards. Beneficiaries will be judged on how their funds were used to have the most impact on their local community, members or service users.
