It used to be Brian Byrne's gig, but this year, another Meath man is taking over the National Concert Hall for New Year's Eve.

Kilmessan's Killian Donnelly, a protoge of St Mary's Musical Society in Navan, is hosting 'An Evening with Killian Donnelly' as this year's New Year’s Eve Gala at the concert hall.

The Irish West End and Broadway star, who has taken the musical world by storm in 'Les Misérables', 'Phantom of the Opera', 'Billy Elliot', 'The Commitments' and 'Kinky Boots' joins the RTÉ Concert Orchestra and conductor David Brophy for a night of entertainment  running all the way to the countdown and the 'Auld Lang Syne ' with a couple of tunes after midnight to start 2020 in style!
Starting at 10pm on Tuesday 31 December, guests  are Louise Bowden and Simon Delaney. A sparkling night includes a complimentary glass of bubbly.
Meanwhile, it has been announced that Killian will the lead the UK and Ireland tour cast of 'The Phantom of the Opera'.
The performer, currently playing Jean Valjean in the interational tour of 'Les Misérables', will play The Phantom, with Holly-Anne Hull as Christine Daaé, and Rhys Whitfield as Raoul.
Well-known songs include 'The Music of the Night' and 'All I Ask of You', as Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical tells the story of a phantom who haunts the Paris Opera House and who is mesmerised by young soprano, Christine.
The Phantom of the Opera will open at Leicester Curve on 22nd February and run until 21st March, before visiting Manchester Palace Theatre from 26th March to 30th May, Dublin's Bord Gais Energy Theatre from 10th June to 18th July, Birmingham Hippodrome (29th July to 12th September), the Festival Theatre, Edinburgh (23rd September to 31st October), Sunderland Empire (4th November to 5th December), Wales Millennium Centre (9th December to 16th January 2021) and Theatre Royal Plymouth (20th January to 20th February 2021).
Killian will perform in Leicester, Manchester, Dublin and Birmingham.
