Dunshaughlin's Charlotte McNamara in 'Ireland's Got Talent' performance

One of the next generation of the McNamara musical family from Dunshaughlin will be taking to the stage this weekend when Charlotte McNamara auditions for 'Ireland's Got Talent'.

Music is in the genes of the Leaving Certificate student who is daughter of former RTE pianist, Frank McNamara, and Theresa Lowe, a former TV presenter.

Charlotte has been singing for nine years. Music is her passion. "I live for music.  I never stop singing!" she says. 
Her father is best known as the music director of The Late Late Show for 20 years. Theresa Lowe was the presenter of quiz show 'Where in the World?' on RTE. 
Charlotte’s dad has helped prepare for the audition - he recorded the piano backing track for her.  
"While my mom and dad are well known, I am a very independent girl and I want to make it on my own steam," Charlotte says.
Eight years ago her family toured the country as an act and Charlotte performed in 13 theatre venues - her brother JJ is making aname for himself as a young pianist at present. 
Demi Lovato, Christina Aguilera and Ariana Grande are her main influences.
She would love if Ireland's Got Talent was a stepping stone to a career in the music industry - her dream is to tour the world and have a number one hit in America.
Charlotte had a music scholarship to Sutton Park School in the past, and now she attends Dunshaughlin Community College.

'Ireland’s Got Talent' continues this Saturday night, 23rd March at 7.30pm on Virgin Media One with an array of inspiring talent all hoping they can impress the judges.
It’s the final episode of the auditions, all the Golden Buzzers have been chosen and it’s time for the judges to decide who goes through to the live shows. This week sees elation from those acts who get through and disappointment as some acts reach the end of the road on their Ireland’s Got Talent journey. 
Nineteen acts will be chosen to join the five Golden Buzzers in the live semi-finals. They are - mother and son duo Sharon and Brandon Webb, dance troupe BSD from Swords in Dublin, Sea of Change, an all-female choir made up of cancer survivors and supporters, singer Barry Darcy from Cork and 14 year old songstress Iveta Tumasoniene.
