Granny comes to visit her acrobat granddaughters and chaos ensues! A show by Circus Outside the Box at Dunshaughlin Harvest Festival .

Weekend of wonder promised in Dunshaughlin

Dunshaughlin Harvest Festival is gearing up to bring music, arts, comedy, street theatre, artisan foods, crafts, games and absolutely loads of fun to Dunshaughlin this weekend.

Highlights this year include street theatre performances by: The Quare Wans in their show of acrobatics, comedy and some very strong women; Circus Outside the Box - when Granny comes to visit her acrobat granddaughters chaos ensues; The Jack Wise Show - magic, comedy, ventriloquism, sword swallowing and pickpocketing!

A community harvest group, established in 2017, will be giving talks and demos and tastings of their ciders, jams and vinegars produced from last autumn’s crops picked from local back gardens and orchards during the 2017 festival. The aim of this new group is to use up excess local fruits which are in abundance, finding new ways to prevent waste.

This year’s parade down Dunshaughlin’s main street will feature the award-winning Arts Team - as seen on RTE’s Ray D’Arcy St Patrick’s Day Parade 2018. This year the giant characters, musicians and dancers have fun with the current political world stage.

Another new activity this year is the gaming van – players can compete against each other in Fortnite. Also joining in the fun in Dunshaughlin Park for the festivities is the local fire brigade – try on a hat, sit in the fire truck, aim the fire hose!

There’s a children’s dog show, bouncy castles, a ceili, a militaria demo, food and craft fairs, bakery competition, music and dance on the festival stage, go kart events and the funniest activity of the weekend every year – the adult’s musical chairs event!

Dunshaughlin Harvest Festival is held the last weekend of September every year and is a family festival run completely by volunteers and supported by local businesses, Meath Partnership, Meath County Council and Meath Tourism.
