Ger Lyons was smiling at Fairyhouse this evening as he added two more winners to his tally for the season.

Lyons on the double

Kiltale-based trainer Ger Lyons moved on to the 19-winner mark for season with a double at Fairyhouse tonight. Johnny Murtagh also completed a double to stay at the top of the jockeys' table with 31 winners so far. Murtagh partnred the opening race winner for Lyons with Bible Black which kept on well up the straight to win by over four lengths. The Bohermeen man completed his double in the last race with the John Oxx-trained Kastania. Keagan Latham was on board the second Lyons winner, in the second race, which went to Suspect Device which finally got his head in front at the 16th attempt. Suspect Device has been busy with not too much time to rest - this was his seventh race in eight weeks. Slane trainer Pat Martin was also on the mark with Like Magic which is owned by a syndicate in Clonsilla.
