The group from Eureka School are being recognised for their outstanding environmental action project to raise awareness of water conservation in their school, and are vying for the top prize in the senior water category for groups of young people aged 15-18. "We are extremely proud of all the young environmentalists that participated in this year's programme," said Elaine Nevin, national director of ECO-UNESCO. "All of the shortlisted projects show a great deal of creativity and innovation in their approach to protecting the environment and promoting environmental awareness." All of Meath can come out to support the great achievements of the young people when the 2010 Young Environmentalist Awards Showcase opens to the public on Wednesday 12th May at Dublin's Mansion House. The ECO-UNESCO Young Environmentalist Awards are entering their 11th year. In the past decade, thousands of young people aged 12-18 have participated from Ireland and Northern Ireland.
