Roman Holiday in Solstice movie season
This season audiences Solstice's Film Club, back by popular demand, can book the film bundle and see four films for just €18. The first 50 people to book the bundle will receive a special invitation to an Italian-themed reception before the screening of 'Roman Holiday' on Wednesday 13th February. The spring film season kicks off with 'Private Peaceful' (2012) on Wednesday 30th January at 7.30 pm. Adapted from Michael Morpurgo's book and directed by Irish Director Pat O'Connor, this beautiful portrayal of love and loyalty gives a convincing insight into the lives of young men in World War I. In February, step back in time and see Audrey Hepburn's Oscar-winning performance in the classic romance Roman Holiday (1953). Co-starring Gregory Peck, this is the story of a bored princess who escapes her guardians and falls in love with an American newsman in Rome. On Wednesday 27th March, Woody Allen's latest kaleidoscopic comedy, 'To Rome with Love' (2012) screens, following the lives of four very different people with Robert Benigni, Penelope Cruz and Alec Baldwin! The last movie of this season is French film Les Neiges Du Kilimandjaro (2011), screening on Wednesday 24th April at 7.30pm. This compelling and inspirational work from Robert Guediguian highlights the importance of family, decency and solidarity. Tickets per film are €7.50 / €6 concession. See all four films at ticket bundle price of €18. The ticket bundle must be purchased in advance of first screening. Contact Box Office on (046) 909 2300 or book online at www.solsticeartscentre.ie
