No Jekyll in Hyde from Meath!
Meath footballers got their promotion bid back on track with a crucial NFL Div 3 victory by 2-11 to 0-12 against Roscommon at Hyde Park today.
After last week's defeat by Cavan, Mick O'Dowd's side secured their second win of the campaign against a John Evans-managed Roscommon with two of the u-21 panel introduced as second-half substitutes.
Wind-assisted Meath laid the platform for victory during the first-half and were ahead by 2-6 to 0-3 at the interval.
The wind played a part in Kevin Reilly's opening goal when a speculative effort bounced over the Roscommon goalkeeper.
Graham Reilly struck Meath's second goal for that nine-point interval advantage as Roscommon lost the influential Donoe Shine before the break.
Kevin Higgins scored the first point of the second half for the hosts who reduced the deficit to five points before Cian Ward converted a free for Meath.
Meath will welcome Sligo to Pairc Tailteann next Saturday evening, 5.0.
