Meath minor team named
The Meath team that will face Offaly in the Leinster MFC at Pairc Tailteann on Saturday will include four of the St Patrick’s CS, Navan players who featured in the All-Ireland Colleges SFC final last weekend.
James McEntee, Ruairi O Coileain, Niall Kane and Niall Lyons will all start, while Seamus Lavin, a survivor from last year’s run to the All-Ireland MFC final, will line out at corner-back.
Charlie Bird will become the first Boardsmill player in a decade to feature for the county minors, while twins Thomas and Daragh McGovern from Donaghmore/Ashbourne will also make their first starts in Leinster MFC action.
Nine of the starting 15 are from the Donaghmore/Ashbourne, Ratoath, Dunshaughlin, Curraha and Dunboyne clubs, a strong showing for the clubs from the south of the county.
