RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta to broadcast from Comórtas Peile na Gaeltachta in Meath venues

Comórtas Peile na Gaeltachta takes place in Ráth Chairn this weekend, and RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta will be broadcasting in the middle of all the action throughout the long weekend, with 30 hours of live content.

Now in its 54th year, Comórtas Peile na Gaeltachta makes its return to Ráth Chairn for the first time in over three decades, having previously been hosted here in 1993.

On Saturday 31st May, the Raidió na Gaeltachta sports team will be broadcasting from 11am Saturday morning until the last ball is kicked at 9pm that evening, with games taking place in Baile Átha Buí, Dún Doire, Ráth Chairn and Baile Ghib.

On Sunday 1st June, Aifreann an Domhnaigh will be broadcast at 11.30am from St Patrick's Church, Ráth Chairn. From 12.15pm - 9pm, the ladies’ intermediate final will be broadcast live, along with the semi-finals for the senior and junior men’s teams. The semi-finals in the junior ladies’ football competitions will also take place and can be heard live on RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta throughout the day.

On Monday 2nd June, the Comórtas Peile na Gaeltachta tournament comes to an end in Ráth Chairn, with the ladies and men’s junior and senior finals broadcasting live from 9.55am - 6pm, with full live commentary, reporting, post-match interviews throughout the day on Raidió na Gaeltachta.

Two special editions of Iris Aniar will also be broadcast from the RnaG ródaí, live from Ráth Chairn pitch across the weekend. On Friday, the show will be previewing all of the action ahead of the first throw in on Friday evening, and on Monday, the show will meet some of the finalists and supporters hoping to claim victory for their respective counties in the men’s and women’s finals.

Comórtas Sóisir na bhFear (Men’s Junior): Clann na nGael (An Mhí), Lios Póil (Ciarraí), Na Gaeil Óga (Áth Cliath), Cill Chomáin (Maigh Eo), An Cheathrú Rua (Gaillimh), Naomh Anna Leitir Móir (Gaillimh), Naomh Náille (Dún na nGall), Laochra Loch Lao (Aontroim), An Seanphobal (Port Láirge).
