Trim Men’s Shed set the benchmark for generosity after replacing vandalised seating at local leisure activity provider

Trim Men's Shed presented a new picnic bench to Boyne Valley Activities on St Patrick's Day, to replace the one that was damaged by mindless vandals over Christmas.

In torrential rain, just before the Daft Raft race began, members of Trim Men's Shed handed over the handcrafted bench to James Murray of Boyne Valley Activities.

"Over the Christmas period one of our benches was mindlessly vandalised and set fire to on site. Trim Men's Shed heard about this and went about building us a brand new one to replace the damaged one," explained James.

"It is now sitting pride of place at our bike rack and we can’t thank them enough. We are so grateful to the lads for taking the time to build this for us.

"Both myself and Gemma are born and reared in Trim town. We are blessed to have been able to set up and build a business on the banks of the river Boyne- Lord knows it hasn’t been easy-but when the local community supports local businesses it makes the hard days well worth it," James wrote on the Boyne Valley Activities Facebook page.
