Woodlands Nursing Home - ‘Our Home is Your Home’

Forty years caring for the community

The Woodlands House Nursing Home has been caring for the Meath community for over 40 years.

With the philosophy "Our Home is Your Home", Woodlands House is a beautiful country home conveniently located on the Trim Road close to Navan town. Owned by Beechfield HC since 2021, following their purchase from the previous owners who had operated it for 22 years prior to the sale.

Enjoying very close links with the community, Woodlands House and its care team provide person centred care and a comprehensive range of services to meet the needs of residents whether low or high level care needs.

Built in 1917, Woodland’s House was originally used to serve the needs of the local Church Of Ireland clergy. The building has operated as a nursing home since the early 1980’s. Major refurbishment was completed in 2017 and Woodlands House now provides 24-hour nursing care for 36 residents in mainly single and some double ensuite rooms.

Their highly trained team of nurses and carers provide a relaxing, calm and happy environment that your loved ones can call home for a short respite stay, post hospital convalescent care or as a full time nursing home resident.

At Woodlands house they believe in the privacy of their residents while catering for their specific needs, this underpins their core philosophy of caring for and respecting each resident as unique individuals.

Their services include convalescent care: Illness and/or surgery can be a significant set-back to a person’s everyday life. They may be on the road to recovery, but need to recover further at their own pace in a quiet environment where they can be cared for 24 hours a day. Woodland House's convalescent care service provides residents with the opportunity to be cared for in a relaxed setting and rebuild their strength.

Respite care is as much about the at home carer as it is about the person being cared for. Caring for a loved one at home over a continuous period can be physically and mentally exhausting. In order to care for a loved one effectively, however, you need to have your energy and passion fully charged. Such a break from caring is key to being able to carry on caring for your loved one for as long as you possibly can.

For those in need of secondary rehabilitation, Woodland’s House provides a relaxed & quiet environment in which to rebuild strength and improve mobility. Personal attention and trained clinical staff will help individuals get back to being their best selves. Residents often discover they have improved more than they may have thought or have been told. This is because now that the acute phase of recovery has finished and they can concentrate on their mental and physical wellbeing.

Woodlands House offers security, privacy, respect and, above all else, quality of life in elderly care. They ensure that every resident has a healthy diet and the necessary medical attention.

They encourage social interaction and participation in activities so that residents have a sense of belonging and enjoy companionship day to day.

They encourage all residents to continue with their personal interests and social activities and pursue new interests. Planned outings and group activities are available seven days a week. They include Sonas programmes, music, reminiscence therapy, board games, mass and prayer groups. Together with bedside activities they cater for active and non-active residents alike.

Some of our weekly activities include Fit for Life exercise class, bingo, flower arranging, arts and crafts, music and singing, choir, baking, aromatherapy, pet therapy, morning and weekly mass, Sonas Programme and fun days out.

Woodlands House recognise that when someone comes to them, it is the start of a new chapter in their lives – the start of something rewarding, where they will be looked after 24 hours a day. Family and friends can visit as easily as before and they no longer need to be concerned about the health and safety of their loved ones after they leave.

When you think that you may wish to come to stay at Woodlands, they will sit down with you to carry out an assessment of your wishes. It is important for you to know that they will provide what you need and want in a way that suits you.
